Martin Barr
American Realist |
Growing up on the family farm, MARTIN BARR began to paint
the natural world around him. As a true American realist, his motives depict scenes with
the vanishing American barns, barnyards as well as the antiquated barn and old house
interiors. His exquisitely detailed and beautifully lit paintings make a great addition to
any fine art collection.
His formal artistic training included study with the famed French painter and
teacher AMEDE OZENFANT, who was the founder of the Purist Movement in Paris in the early
20th Century.
Martin Barr was a professional musician by night and song lyricist, a poet
and a painter by day. A major commission to paint murals in the old Yankee stadium led to a
career as a mural and fine arts painter. In the last ten years Martin Barr has
concentrated on the fine art paintings. |
